DAS Aviation expands landing gear overhaul support
Additional engineering staff and expanded facilities support broader repair and exchange coverage as ageing aircraft fleets drive maintenance demand.
Facilities in Colorado and Texas now support more than 90,000 sq ft of dedicated landing gear operations.

DAS Aviation has expanded into landing gear repair, overhaul and exchange programmes for a broad range of business aircraft as the US maintenance provider increases its focus on component support and faster turnaround times.

The FAA Part 145 repair station has added dedicated landing gear capabilities across facilities in Grand Junction, Colorado and Grandview, Texas, expanding its operational footprint to more than 90,000sq ft.

The overhaul and repair programmes cover aircraft including Embraer’s Phenom and Praetor families, Bombardier Challenger aircraft, Learjets, King Air turboprops and Legacy business jets. Exchange programmes have also been added for Falcon, Global, Gulfstream IV and Piaggio P180 aircraft. The expansion responds to growing demand for quicker landing gear support as operators face tightening parts availability and ageing fleets.

A team of 25 engineers has been added to support the programmes, while further investment is planned in chrome, CAD, zinc-nickel, electroless-nickel and HVOF plating technologies aimed at improving component durability and extending service life.

The company continues to provide structural repairs, sheet metal fabrication, composite structures, component overhaul, mobile repair and recovery services alongside engineering support.

“Turn time and return to service, along with safety, are our core focus,” says Dan Podojil, senior vice president of DAS Aviation. “We are a business built on solutions, and this expansion exemplifies our focus on being the business aviation leader in landing gear support and reducing turnaround times. It lets us say yes to our customers by delivering rapid, reliable landing gear repair, overhaul and exchange with engineering-backed reliability.”

“This expansion is a milestone for DAS Aviation and for our customers who require faster, more reliable landing gear support,” adds Jon Hein, landing gear contact for DAS Aviation. “By aligning our capabilities with the rest of our portfolio, we're delivering true full-service coverage and strengthening safety, turn times and problem-solving across the board.”
