Joby increases flight test capacity in support of FAA certification

Joby will start flying a second pre-production prototype aircraft to accelerate flight testing. Both the FAA special airworthiness certificate and USAF airworthiness approval were given in December 2021.

Ameriflight is to upgrade its cargo fleet with autonomous flight capability. The carrier flies for express delivery groups and this should allow it to capitalise on growth opportunities and mitigate the industry's pilot shortage.
The 24 seat Mi-171A3 has a MTOW of 13,000 kg and a maximum flight range of 1,000 km. It is designed for all-weather operation from -50 C to +50 C.
