Catalyst turboprop with 3D printed parts completes first flight

The Catalyst engine features an industry best 16:1 overall pressure ratio, enabling the engine to achieve as much as 20% lower fuel burn. The test flight lasted for one hour and 40 minutes.
CHC becomes the first to fly the S-92 on SAF

Lockheed Martin, parent company of Sikorsky, has approved the use of SAF as an alternative to standard aviation fuel. CHC will become the first to fly commercial flights in the S-92 using biofuels.
Catalyst engine tests run smoothly for Textron

The GE Aviation Catalyst engine burns less fuel than older turboprops and has the capability to use sustainable fuels, meaning lower emissions. Test flights of the Beechcraft Denali are planned for the end of the year.
