Beta Technologies has become the first eVTOL developer to receive FAA market survey authorisation, allowing prospective operators to fly the A250 Alia ahead of targeted type certification in late 2027 or early 2028.

Working with the Utah Department of Transportation, 47G and Beech 1900 fleet operator Alpine Air Express, Beta conducted flights with its all-electric Alia CTOL aircraft to showcase a new regional transportation model.

The demonstration showed how the Alia CTOL could move disaster-response equipment alongside the county's existing helicopter and ground-based emergency response. Beta and Metro are collaborating closely.
