Brazilian full service business aviation company TAM Aviacao Executiva has entered a partnership with global high-speed internet provider Gogo Satcom Direct, to bring a high-speed internet service to its executive aircraft. Gogo Satcom Direct has a solution that provides internet through the installation of a single antenna on the aircraft, connected to an exclusive satellite network that orbits the Earth.

In this business model, the installation of the antenna on the aircraft and all the initial configuration for the service to operate are carried out by TAM Aviacao Executiva, and Gogo Satcom Direct then provides high-quality internet service to customers paying a monthly fee. Once the customer signs up, they gain access to a high-speed and stable connection that is said to sustain holding video conferences, downloading large files and watching streaming services safely and privately during their flights.

TAM Aviacao Executiva service centre director Wellington Amorim says: “In a world where time is money, we know that those who use executive aviation need to be connected at all times. Onboard internet is an essential tool, as it helps maintain productivity. With the growing demand for this service, we are delighted to have Gogo Satcom Direct, which shares our commitment to offering the best to customers.”

Subject to approval of STCs from the Brazilian civil aviation authority ANAC, installations will begin in March at TAM Aviacao Executiva’s service centre at Jundiaí Airport near Sao Paulo, the largest for executive aviation in Latin America.

Initially, TAM Aviacao Executiva will carry out the installation on its Citation Latitude and Hawker aircraft, in addition to jets from the Cessna Citation 525 series line and its variants.
