Nomad Technics completes BBJ overhaul in Basel
Satcom, seating, lighting and cabin monitor upgrades were completed during a 12-year inspection for the Dubai-headquartered operator's aircraft.
The aircraft, registered P4-999, will be available for charter soon under Action Aviation's own AOC.

Nomad Technics has redelivered a Boeing BBJ to Action Aviation following a 12-year inspection and landing gear overhaul at Basel's EuroAirport, with the extended ground time used to carry out a range of interior and systems upgrades.

Nomad Technics installed the Gogo Galileo FDX satcom system, one of the first such installations on a BBJ worldwide. AeroVisto Interior Services re-upholstered all seats and divans to a bespoke design, while Simrick supplied new carpet for the cabin. The in-flight entertainment system was upgraded with larger, higher resolution monitors and an app-based video on demand streaming system developed specifically for the client. Cabin lighting was changed to multicolour LED mood lighting controlled via app and a new app-based moving map system was installed for display on both cabin monitors and personal devices.

Brigita Vildžiūnienė, director of sales of Nomad Technics, says: “The project was interesting and challenging to put together, but I think that's something that made us win because the client saw how quickly and efficiently we can do things. Our responsiveness, honesty and transparency built trust with the customer and we carried that on throughout the project. They were involved in all the parts even in the quotation phase. It was a collaborative effort.”

Thomas Gierlich, CEO of Nomad Technics, adds: “We are grateful to Action Aviation and our partners that have entrusted us with such a large scale project. To allow us to work on this aeroplane, it has been a wonderful experience.”
