JFS completes first Embraer C-check in Riga
Jet Flight Service has an Embraer Legacy C-check under its belt at its Riga facility, and another already under way. The base has now been approved as a manufacturer authorised service centre jointly with FBO Riga.
FBO Riga and Jet Flight Services have achieved Embraer authorised sevice centre status.

The first Legacy 650 aircraft has finished C-check servicing at Jet Flight Service's facility in Riga, which opened last May and has now been approved as an Embraer authorised service centre.

The Legacy aircraft has undergone a 96-month inspection together with the installation of ADS-B Out and FANS-1A systems and the replacement of fuselage nose section skins. A second Embraer Legacy 650 is now undergoing C-check servicing.

The service centre, which is located at the FBO Riga facility, is certified for line and base maintenance activities on the EMB-135BJ family (Legacy 600/650) as well as line maintenance on the EMB-450/550 (Legacy 450/500) and Gulfstream G450. Its capacity allows it to perform C-checks on two Legacy 600/650s simultaneously. The two companies also plan to enhance their capabilities for component maintenance and repair in order to reduce ground time spent on maintenance.

“Embraer business jets are popular among operators and owners in Europe and the CIS. However, we see a lack of MRO centres that provide quality maintenance and repair services for these aircraft. We decided to offer a worthy alternative in partnership with FBO Riga. Along with extensive knowledge and experience we now offer favourably-priced, fast and flexible MRO solutions in Riga,” says Frantisek Budin, Jet Flight Service's base maintenance manager in Riga.

Roman Starkov, co-owner of FBO Riga, continues: “FBO infrastructure and the level of MRO services are very important for business jet operators. Together with Jet Flight Service's professionals we have applied many years of experience and knowledge to create the Embraer authorised service centre on the basis of our infrastructure and gather a team of highly skilled mechanics, engineers and managers. Riga's favourable geographic location, the quality of our service and the timely delivery of spare parts and components will be attractive for customers from the west and the east.”

Jet Flight Service was founded in 2002 to support Russia’s first Embraer 135BJ aircraft. Over the years the company has expanded its expertise to cover the Legacy 600/650, the Gulfstream aircraft family up to the G550 and the Boeing BBJ. As well as being approved by Embraer, Jet Flight Service is an authorised service centre and dealer for Honeywell and Rockwell Collins.
