Haweker 850XP for charter
All-Hawker fleet is just the job for SOS Air
SOS Air is a specialist in medical missions and believes it has struck the right balance by using a fleet of four Hawkers (two 400XPs and two 800XPis). The XPis are fresh additions to the fleet, and crew is onboarding.

Turkish medevac operator SOS Air now counts four Hawker jets in its fleet: two 400XPs and two newly-acquired 800XPis. These aircraft are kitted out for long-range medical missions. The 400XP pair continues to handle regional missions with a single stretcher and all necessary equipment for intensive care, while the 800XPi has quickly become the workhorse of the operation.

Since entering service, the first XPi has been flying more than 100 hours each month and consistently takes on the longest range assignments. Its dual stretcher capacity and spacious cabin allow SOS’s medical team to care for two critical patients simultaneously while still carrying all necessary equipment including ventilators, incubators and comprehensive patient monitoring. The aircraft’s extended range links distant cities in a single hop, eliminating fuel stops that add both time and stress to patient transfers.

“2025 has been our busiest year to date,” comments director Ege Kanber. “We finalised the purchase of two XPis, completed the medical interior installation on the first aircraft, completed type rating training for our new pilots and launched an orientation programme for newly joined team members. The second XPi is now undergoing the same process and is expected to join the fleet within the coming weeks. At the same time, we have been expanding our operational structure to match the growth. Additional pilots, medical crew and team members on the management side joined us to ensure continuity and efficiency in both domestic and international missions.

“Our CAMO department is also taking care of maintenance with great focus and effort, which is essential for sustainable and uninterrupted operations. Looking ahead, our priority is to bring the second XPi into service, after which we anticipate a significant increase in monthly flight hours. We are already evaluating the addition of another Hawker 800XPi to further strengthen our capacity and support our growing international operations. Our goal is to have a fleet that offers a range of aircraft options to meet the varied needs of our missions while maintaining the quality and reliability of our services.”
