Pentastar Aviation has secured FAA supplemental type certification for installation of the Gogo LX5 air-to-ground connectivity system on Gulfstream GIV, G450, GV and G550 aircraft.
The approval allows the Michigan-based maintenance and aviation services company to offer the upgraded inflight connectivity system to operators flying primarily across North America, with the platform delivering increased bandwidth, faster speeds, lower latency and support for additional connected devices onboard.
Gogo says the LX5 system is designed as a lightweight and lower-profile solution for operators seeking improved inflight internet performance across the continental United States and Canada. The system can also replace older ATG 4000 and 5000 installations or upgrade existing Avance L3 and L5 systems.
Shane Smith, avionics sales and engineering manager at Pentastar, says: “Here at Pentastar we take great pride in providing the highest quality maintenance. Our technicians are second to none when it comes to expertise, professionalism, and overall quality and care given to your aircraft. This STC upgrade can be installed at our Oakland County International Airport (KPTK) location.”
The LX5 system can also be paired with Gogo’s Galileo HDX or Galileo FDX connectivity platforms, expected to become available during the fourth quarter of 2026.
