Embraer is partnering with Nextant Aerospace to bring Starlink connectivity as an aftermarket option for Praetor 600, Praetor 500, Legacy 500 and Legacy 450 aircraft. The solution is available through a supplemental type certificate, with FAA certification already granted for the Praetor 500 and Legacy 450. Starlink uses a Low Earth Orbit satellite network to deliver high-speed, low-latency internet worldwide, including in remote or oceanic regions. It supports demanding applications such as VPN access, 4K video calls and online gaming.
“We're excited to bring Starlink's cutting-edge, high-speed internet to our customers. This builds on our ongoing efforts, strengthening our commitment to seamless, connected flight experiences around the world,” says Marsha Woelber, vice president, customer support and aftermarket sales for executive jets, Embraer Executive Jets.
Jay Heublein, president of Flexjet's technical services division, adds: “With more than a year of operational experience and hundreds of kits sold to the business aviation fleet, Starlink has firmly established itself as the preeminent solution for in-flight connectivity. The Praetor is one of the most technologically advanced business jet in its category, and the addition of Starlink ensures that passengers will have a seamless connectivity experience.”
Work is underway on certification for Phenom 300s, expected by Q4 2025. Flexjet, the world’s largest Praetor operator, plans to equip its entire fleet. Embraer's nine-site global service network is ready to install the upgrade.
