Garmin expands TXi EIS with arc gauges and broader aircraft support
The displays have been updated with arc gauges, added engine compatibility and improved backup and logging functionality across more turbine aircraft.
A new half arc format allows for a 50% increase in font size across engine gauges.

Garmin has released a software update for its TXi flight displays, enhancing its Engine Indication System (EIS) for both turbine and piston aircraft. The update introduces half arc-style gauges that feature a 50% increase in font size and larger pointers with tails, helping pilots to more easily locate and interpret engine readings. Each arc gauge also now shows the minimum and maximum range values of the pointer.

The EIS update expands engine compatibility to include Honeywell TPE-331-10 and -10N engines, and brings support for the Twin Commander 695 series, the Cessna Conquest 441 and the Mitsubishi MU-2B models. The Piaggio P.180 Avanti, equipped with PT6A engines, is also supported.

Pilots can display EIS data on 10.6-inch or 7-inch TXi screens, as a primary display, a multifunction unit or a dedicated engine display. Backup display functionality is supported across multiple units.

Engine data logging is built in, and when paired with the GDL 60 datalink, information is automatically uploaded to flyGarmin. This helps identify maintenance requirements and monitor engine and flight cycles. The update is available through Garmin authorised dealers.
