NBAA honours GAMA’s Pete Bunce ahead of retirement
The long-time general aviation leader was recognised for two decades of advocacy and his impact across the industry.
NBAA president and CEO Ed Bolen presented Bunce with a framed model of his Cirrus SR-22 at his retirement celebration.

The National Business Aviation Association has honoured Pete Bunce, outgoing president and CEO of the General Aviation Manufacturers Association, for his leadership and advocacy over the past 20 years. He retires next month after leading the group that represents airframe, powerplant, avionics and OEM suppliers in general aviation.

“Pete has been a vocal, steadfast and highly effective champion for GAMA's member companies and for our entire industry,” says NBAA president and CEO Ed Bolen. “He has had an immeasurable impact, and we wish him well on his retirement.”

During his tenure, GAMA partnered with NBAA on priorities such as aircraft safety, taxation, workforce growth and sustainable aviation. Notably, Bunce helped launch the No Plane No Gain campaign in 2009 and supported the current Climbing Fast initiative.

A former US Air Force pilot, Bunce joined GAMA in 2005. He will be succeeded by James Viola, previously head of Vertical Aviation International.
