Designers battle for vip BBJ business
Design firms and completion centres are vying for the vip custom of Boeing Business Jet buyers. Boeing has commissioned several design firms to develop preliminary concepts for 787 vip interiors. And a number of other aircraft interior design firms and completion centres have developed a variety of competing interior design concepts.

Design firms and completion centres are vying for the vip custom of Boeing Business Jet buyers. Boeing has commissioned several design firms to develop preliminary concepts for 787 vip interiors. And a number of other aircraft interior design firms and completion centres have developed a variety of competing interior design concepts.

Boeing, which delivers vip aircraft in "green" condition, has configured the vip 787-8 to offer 2,404 sq. ft. of cabin space. It has a range of 9,590 nm. The vip configured 787-9 offers 2,762 sq. ft. of cabin space and has a range of 9,950 nm.

Undisclosed customers have ordered five vip 787s, two 787-8s and three 787-9s. Two additional 787-8s are being provided to vips through leasing companies. The first commercial version of the 787 is scheduled to make its first flight later this year.
