Helicopter service company Heli-Charter has chosen to relocate its fleet to London Ashford airport, moving its base from Manston in Kent.

The fleet includes a Bell JetRanger and LongRanger, as well as twin engine aircraft, including the Agusta 109 and the Sikorsky S76.

The company offers a variety of services, including London sightseeing flights, self-fly hire and charter services between Lydd and the company's own heliport in London. Heli-Charter is also well-known in the broadcasting industry, having supplied equipment needed to film the aerial shots for the opening titles of British TV soap opera 'Emmerdale.'

"The recent investment at London Ashford Airport has meant we have the use of some great facilities, which makes it an ideal base for our fleet," said Gary Slater, managing director of Heli-Charter.

"The continuing improvements at the airport, along with the developments taking place at Ashford, make this an exciting time for the region, and it's something we want to be a part of."
