Greybird adds Tecnam twin to expand European pilot training
The fleet deal strengthened multi-engine training capacity and reinforces a standardised cockpit approach across the academy’s growing network.
Søren Møller, founder and CTO of Greybird Aviation Group, with Paolo Pascale, CEO of Tecnam, and Walter Da Costa, chief sales officer of Tecnam, at AERO Friedrichshafen.

Greybird Aviation Group has signed a fleet expansion agreement at AERO Friedrichshafen, adding three Tecnam P2006T NG twin-engine aircraft as part of a 13 aircraft order supporting its European growth.

The Danish academy’s training model centres on a “uniform fleet” approach, with consistent Garmin glass cockpit layouts used from initial flight training through to multi-engine qualification. This structure reduces transition time between aircraft types and supports safer, more efficient progression.

The Tecnam P2006T NG plays a central role in that pathway. As a cost-efficient twin-engine platform, it enables cadets to move into multi-engine flying without relearning cockpit logic. Instead, training can focus directly on handling twin-engine aerodynamics and advanced operational procedures.

The aircraft is positioned as the final step in a streamlined training pipeline, aligning with airline expectations for standardised, technology-led training environments.

“At Greybird, our core philosophy is to provide our cadets with the most modern, uniform, and airline-relevant training environment possible,” says Søren Møller, founder and CTO at Greybird Aviation Group. “The Tecnam P2006T NG and P-Mentor are the perfect fit for this vision. This 13-aircraft order allows us to sustainably scale our operations across our European bases while ensuring our students are flying the absolute best glass-cockpit aircraft on the market today.”

Walter Da Costa, chief sales officer at Tecnam, adds: “Greybird has built a reputation for innovation and excellence in flight training. Its commitment to a standardised, high-tech fleet is exactly what modern airlines are looking for in graduating cadets. We are extremely proud to secure this order at AERO 2026 and to provide Greybird with a highly efficient, sustainable fleet that will power its European expansion for years to come.”
