DRF Akademie strengthens H145 training with Reiser simulator
An Airbus H145 D3 training device has received German regulator qualification, strengthening pilot training capacity and supporting DRF Luftrettung’s aeromedical helicopter operations.
DRF Luftrettung CEO Dr. Krystian Pracz shakes hands with Dr. Johannes Hain, CEO of Reiser Simulation and Training.

Pilot training capacity for Airbus H145 operations is expanding after DRF Akademie acquired a new flight training device developed by Reiser Simulation and Training.

The Airbus H145 D3 H10 level-3 device has been qualified by the German civil aviation authority LBA and will support the organisation’s growing training requirements for the type.

Florian Rabe, managing director, DRF Akademie, says: “With this investment, we are taking another decisive step toward future-proof pilot training. As one of the first organisations using this new device, we benefit directly from our close cooperation with Reiser Simulation and Training to respond quickly to operational requirements while maintaining the highest training standards for our clients. The new simulator complements the H145/H135 full flight simulator at Lufthansa Aviation Training in Frankfurt and can be integrated with our hoist simulator hoistAR, enabling a broader and highly flexible training portfolio.”

The device will also support operational training activity across DRF Luftrettung’s helicopter emergency medical services network.

“In combination with our state-of-the-art fleet, the new simulator provides our crews with optimal training conditions. This not only enhances training quality but also safeguards operational readiness across our 32 HEMS bases in Germany for the benefit of our patients,” says Dr. Krystian Pracz, CEO, DRF Luftrettung.

The mixed-reality device replicates the Airbus H145 D3 variant with avionics software standard Version 10 and is designed to obtain Multi-Crew Coordination approval enabling dedicated MCC training on the platform.

The simulator is scheduled to enter service in early June in Frankfurt and will be operated by Lufthansa Aviation Training. The partners agreed accelerated delivery to address rising demand for training capacity.

Johannes Hain, CEO, Reiser Simulation and Training, adds: “This project underlines our shared commitment to innovation and operational excellence. Delivering this H145 D3 simulator with MCC approval demonstrates how forward-looking training concepts can be successfully realised through strong partnerships.”
