Finnish helicopter pilot training provider Coptersafety is substantially expanding of its training services with the establishment of a new training centre in Oslo, Norway. The centre is set to open in 2028.

“We are extremely happy to be taking our first step in expanding our global footprint with additional training opportunities for pilots worldwide. Our Helsinki headquarters and training centre will be at maximum simulator capacity in the next two years, yet the need for pilot training in Europe and globally is only increasing. Coptersafety's new facility in Oslo will provide operators a choice in location, alongside our Helsinki headquarters and training centre, and new simulator aircraft platforms,” shares Coptersafety's CEO Hannu Marjoniemi.

The purpose-built training centre will provide additional capacity to meet the increasing demands for pilot training as fleets grow both in Europe and globally in operations such as HEMS, SAR and offshore.

It will house a fleet of Level D full flight simulators and training devices, starting with a Level D H135/H145 full flight simulator. The remaining fleet will be announced at a later stage.

The Oslo facility will follow the same training approach as the Helsinki centre, from ground to flight training, to continue providing the high-quality training that Coptersafety is known for. The design will mirror Coptersafety's Helsinki headquarters in both efficiency, comfort, and services with proximity to Oslo Gardermoen Airport.

The new centre is set to open in 2028, with more details and specific dates to be announced later.
