The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) has appointment of Daniel Baker, founder of FlightAware and CEO of BakerVentures, and Kennedy Ricci, president of 4Air, to its board of directors. Additionally, Joe Barber, CCO at Clay Lacy, C.R. Sincock II, executive VP at Avfuel Corporation and Phil Straub, executive VP and MD of aviation at Garmin International were named to the association’s advisory council.
“NBAA is excited to welcome these leaders to the association’s board and advisory council,” says NBAA president and CEO Ed Bolen. “They bring decades of experience not only in business aviation but also in sectors like finance, technology, sustainability and philanthropy. Their expertise will be invaluable to the association and industry.”
Founder and CEO of global aerospace data company FlightAware, Baker is experienced in aviation safety and has served on the Aspen Airport’s Safety Task Force and chaired GAMA’s safety and accident investigation committee. He holds FAA commercial pilot and flight instructor certificates.
Ricci founded 4Air in 2020 and is a commercial-rated pilot and flight instructor, replacing Kali Hague, who served on NBAA’s board as a Young Professional director.
Barber leads commercial operations at Clay Lacy Aviation, overseeing aircraft management, jet charter, maintenance and FBO services. He has chaired NBAA’s business aviation management committee and was named to NBAA’s inaugural class of the Business Aviation Top 40 Under 40 in 2018.
Sincock focuses on next-gen aviation technologies at Avfuel, particularly in sustainable aviation fuel pathways and hybrid-electric power solutions. He led the development of AvfuelZero, the company’s consultative arm for sustainable aviation, and is the founding investor and senior strategic advisor at Kriya Therapeutics.
Since joining Garmin in 1993, Straub oversees the company’s aviation business segment, managing product development, flight operations, certification, sales and marketing. He served as GAMA board chair and has been serving alongside other industry leaders on the FAA’s drone advisory committee. An active pilot, he holds an airline transport pilot certificate and King Air BE300, Citation CE525S and Citation CE560XL type ratings.
