All 20 Textron Aviation service centres around the world have achieved certification as part of the National Air Transportation Association's (NATA) Sustainability Standard for Aviation Businesses in recognition of the company's sustainability efforts. Textron Aviation is the first aircraft original equipment manufacturer (OEM) to receive this certification confirming sustainable practices are in use and the largest company with multiple locations to self-certify each site.

NATA's Sustainability Standard was designed to encourage aviation businesses to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, increase the use of environmentally friendly energy resources, reduce waste and promote sustainability through business operations.

“This recognition affirms that we are on the right path towards achieving our sustainability goals,” says senior vice president, customer support Brian Rohloff. “We remain steadfast in our commitment to a more sustainable future for our employees, communities and customers.”

Textron Aviation has entered into a 20 year contract with Evergy, a Kansas based energy company and its New Green Energy Programme. This contract supports nearly all of the Wichita and Independence facilities' electricity needs by utilising Kansas' abundant, affordable and renewable wind energy. In addition, all North American service centres have transitioned to using LED lighting throughout the facilities to reduce energy usage.

The company also has a robust recycling programme that lessens the burden on the need for the consumption of new natural resources. Landing gear, avionics and electronics can be recycled or repurposed through this programme.

Additionally, the Wichita service centre now offers customers SAF as part of the standard customer service experience.
