GAMA puts 2020 committee leadership in place
The General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) has confirmed its 2020 executive leadership and the establishment of a new senior level policy committee.
David Paddock is taking the reins at GAMA for 2020.

The General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) has appointed Jet Aviation president David Paddock as chairman of GAMA for 2020. He previously served as GAMA vice chairman and chaired the association's communications committee.

Daher senior vice president, airplane business unit Nicolas Chabbert will serve as GAMA vice chairman. He has previously chaired the association's safety and accident investigation committee.

The association has also created a European leaders steering committee that will provide additional strategic guidance for its on-going work with European institutions and stakeholders. Lead by Luxaviation Group president, aviation services David Van Den Langenbergh, it will be comprised of senior executives from GAMA's European member companies and tasked with developing strategies to grow the general aviation sector in Europe, while continuously improving safety.

Additionally, a number of GAMA board members will provide leadership for the association's existing policy committees: StandardAero president, business aviation Marc Drobny will chair the airworthiness and maintenance policy committee;

Embraer president and CEO Michael Amalfitano will continue to chair the communications committee; Bell EVP, technology & innovation Michael Thacker and Uber head of Elevate Eric Allison will continue to co-chair the electric propulsion and innovation committee; Bombardier Aviation president David Coleal will continue to chair the environment committee; ForeFlight co-founder and CEO Tyson Weihs will continue to chair the flight operations policy committee; SimCom CEO Eric Hinson will chair the safety and accident investigation committee; Greenwich AeroGroup president and CEO Jim Ziegler will chair the security issues committee; Airbus Helicopters vice president, engineering & flight operations Jeff Trang will chair the technical policy committee; and Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation president Mark Burns will continue his service on GAMA's executive committee as immediate past chairman.
