Aircraft 2317 took off from the same Bembridge runway used for the very first Islander’s 1965 maiden flight, ahead of delivery to the Falkland Islands.

The Falkland Islands Government is modernising its local commuting, air ambulance, freight and environmental monitoring roles. The first of four Islanders has entered ground testing ahead of its maiden flight.

Hundreds of Islanders operate daily across more than 70 countries, many in locations where environmental conditions, logistics, infrastructure and, at times, geopolitical instability make recovery exceptionally complex.
