C&L Aviation Group has partnered with ScioTeq for the sales and STC development of the DU-875 NG light display for Cessna Citation Excel, Encore, Ultra and Bravo aircraft, as well as the Embraer ERJ 135/145.
Currently under development, the STC will allow operators to conveniently upgrade from legacy Honeywell DU-870 CRT displays. The DU-875 NG light is a drop-in replacement that offers reduced power consumption and significant weight savings while maintaining compatibility with the existing cockpit configuration.
The new units offer a substantially improved mean time between failures (MTBF) compared to the legacy DU-870 displays currently installed on these aircraft, helping operators improve reliability, reduce maintenance requirements and lower overall operating costs.
“Through this partnership with ScioTeq, C&L continues to deliver innovative and reliable solutions that support operators in avoiding obsolescence,” says CEO Chris Kilgour. “Many operators have been searching for a cost-effective replacement for the ageing DU-870 display, which faces increasing supportability challenges. Until now there has not been a viable, safe alternative available. Our goal is to make these upgrades accessible, reliable and as cost-effective as possible.”
Operators can expect substantial operational benefits with minimal downtime, no requirement for additional pilot training and continued use of legacy applications including PFD, MFD and EICAS symbology.
