Wheels Up, a global provider of on-demand private aviation has commenced a five-year landing gear maintenance agreement with Av8, covering overhaul and exchange support for its Phenom 300 fleet. It currently operates 29 of the type and says it would like to expand to 50 premium aircraft by year-end.
Wheels Up operates one of the largest Phenom 300 fleets in the world, with expected expansion plans. Av8 will support the programme through its landing gear exchange pool, the largest in the industry, allowing aircraft to return to service quickly without waiting on individual overhauls.
Av8 is an FAA and EASA certified repair station specialising in landing gear overhauls and PMA parts for commercial, business and general aviation. Av8's support is backed by more than 300 FAA-PMA approvals for the Phenom platform and a broad portfolio of in-house RS-DER-approved repair procedures, allowing Av8 to offer flat-rate pricing across the initiative and the longest warranty ever offered on Phenom 300 landing gear.
“In Q2, Wheels Up achieved the highest Completion Rate and On-Time Performance in our company's history, and partnerships like this one are how we sustain that standard as the fleet grows,” states Dave Holtz, chief operating officer, Wheels Up. “Av8's support brings added predictability to our Phenom 300 operations, and we look forward to working with its team as we continue to scale our modernised fleet.”
“This agreement is another great addition to the long-term partnerships we've built with major operators,” adds Bryan Stamp, president, Victor Sierra. “A five-year commitment from a fleet this size reflects the trust Wheels Up has placed in our team, and supporting it exclusively through our exchange pool is exactly the model that has made these partnerships work.”
The Phenom fleet's rapid growth followed Wheels Up's decision to retire all legacy jets and turboprops; the last legacy aircraft left revenue service in April 2026, with the King Air 350i fleet retired the same month.
Av8's recently acquired pool of rotatable inventory will allow it to support the programme from day one, ensuring no interruption to Wheels Up's operations as the agreement begins.
