Wheels Up adds Honeywell predictive engine cover as Challenger fleet doubles
Wheels Up Experience has selected Honeywell Aerospace's Fleet Maintenance Service Plan and Ensemble engine health monitoring to support its expanding fleet of Bombardier Challenger 300/350 aircraft.
The Challenger series is a firm favourite for Wheels Up.

Wheels Up Experience has selected Honeywell Aerospace's Fleet Maintenance Service Plan (FMSP) to support its fleet of Bombardier CL300/350 series aircraft.

“In Q2, Wheels Up achieved the highest completion rate and on-time performance in our company's history, and we expect this partnership will only continue to elevate our operational reliability,” comments Dave Holtz, chief operating officer of Wheels Up. “The predictive insight from Honeywell Aerospace's Ensemble, paired with its Fleet Maintenance Service Plan, gives our team the tools to keep our Challenger fleet flying at the highest standard, reinforcing the disciplined, data-driven operating model that has driven these record results.”

At the end of 2024, Wheels Up operated nine Challenger 300s; by April 2026 that had grown to 10, and the company publicly stated its intention to nearly double its Challenger and Phenom fleets during 2026.

“As business aviation demand continues to grow, operators are under increasing pressure to keep aircraft available, control maintenance costs and deliver a consistent customer experience,” states Taylor Alberstadt, senior director of global sales and account management at Honeywell Aerospace. “Our maintenance service plan helps operators anticipate needs, leading to greater mission uptime, utilisation and long-term cost management.”

Honeywell Aerospace's traditional Maintenance Service Plan (MSP) delivers fixed-price coverage for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance across avionics, control systems, engines and auxiliary power units, giving operators the confidence to stay on budget and avoid surprise repair bills. Every plan is backed by Honeywell Aerospace's global network of experts and authorised service centres, ensuring access to genuine parts and consistently high dispatch reliability.

Built on its foundational MSP offering, Honeywell Aerospace caters to the needs of large fleet operators like Wheels Up through a tailored FMSP programme, which maintains the core benefits of MSP, while scaling for a larger fleet to provide the type of support valued by fractional, charter and other multi-aircraft owners and operators.

The continuing growth of Wheels Up Signature membership reflects strong demand for Wheels Up's improved product and consistent experience across its modernised fleet, which features Bombardier Challenger aircraft as one of two key aircraft types. Wheels Up expects to continue to scale its Challenger fleet to service expected demand growth.

As part of the FMSP, Wheels Up will have access to Honeywell Aerospace's Ensemble, an end-to-end digital maintenance solution that automatically downloads and transmits engine information to analyse and track engine condition after every flight. The service can detect, analyse and proactively address potential issues with engines before they disrupt flights. It also facilitates digital connections between operational data, engine build records, engine maintenance records and a digital engine logbook.

“Aftermarket services are evolving from reactive maintenance to data-driven support, and Ensemble is an important step in that shift,” Alberstadt concludes. “With Ensemble, operators have access to these crucial insights to identify potential problems early and reduce manual reporting. Then the FMSP gives them access to 24/7 support.”
