FAI Technik, a German MRO provider for business jets and a wholly owned subsidiary of the FAI Aviation Group Holding, has been appointed an authorised dealer and installer of SpaceX's Starlink high-speed satellite internet solution for aviation, effective immediately. Installations will be carried out at FAI Technik's maintenance facility at Albrecht Dürer airport Nuremberg, further enhancing the company's aircraft modification and connectivity capabilities.
FAI Technik successfully equipped its first aircraft, a Bombardier Global Express XRS, with Starlink in June and is scheduled to complete additional installations across select aircraft within its fleet, bringing high-speed, low-latency connectivity to its own operations.
Concurrently, Starlink installation services are available to external aircraft owners and operators, enabling customers to upgrade their aircraft with the latest generation of in-flight connectivity.
With Starlink, passengers benefit from fast, reliable internet access in flight, supporting video conferencing, streaming, cloud-based applications and seamless online communication.
Michael Axtmann, managing director, FAI Technik, says: “Our appointment as an authorised SpaceX Starlink dealer and installer marks an important milestone in the continued expansion of FAI Technik's modification and connectivity capabilities. As demand for high-speed, reliable connectivity continues to grow across the business aviation sector, we expect Starlink to become a highly attractive addition to the range of services and solutions we offer aircraft owners and operators.”
As an experienced EASA Part-145 maintenance organisation, FAI Technik provides aircraft maintenance, modification and installation services from its Nuremberg base, combining technical expertise, operational experience and comprehensive in-house capabilities. Starlink complements the company's established expertise in aircraft connectivity and cabin technology upgrades including Gogo's Galileo, Honeywell's Ka-band and Collins Ku-band.
