ACI Jet, a provider of private aviation services and a Bombardier ASF based at San Luis County Regional airport in San Luis Obispo, California, has announced at NBAA-BACE that it has named Adam Barron as its vice president of aircraft maintenance. In this executive leadership role, Barron will direct all maintenance operations across ACI Jet's flight operations and MRO business units.
Barron's appointment signals a forward-thinking new chapter for business aviation maintenance across California, bringing together elevated standards of operational excellence, safety and accountability to any location in California and throughout the West Coast. He takes the helm of an already high-performing MRO facility and Bombardier authorised service facility, leveraging ACI Jet's state-of-the-art parts depot and robust technician talent pipeline in San Luis Obispo to maximise aircraft reliability and customer satisfaction.
Barron is uniquely qualified to lead ACI Jet's maintenance division into its next phase of growth. Since 2021, he has served as ACI Jet's director of maintenance, where he successfully built and managed the Part 135 flight operations maintenance department for a fleet of 17 aircraft, including Bombardier Global series, Challenger 300 and 600 series, Cessna Citations, Phenom 300 and Gulfstream IV jets.
His extensive background spans both military defence and corporate aviation. He served as an F-15 dedicated crew chief and 7-Level craftsman in the United States Air Force at Eglin Air Force Base. He later worked as lead field engineer on the USAF BACN programme with Northrop Grumman Defense Services, directing maintenance for the world's highest-timed Bombardier Global Express fleet, and served as an OEM field service representative at Bombardier Aerospace supporting a specialised fleet of over 110 aircraft.
As vice president, Barron will lead the strategic integration of ACI Jet's flight operations maintenance team and Part 145 MRO division, unlocking synergies, streamlining billing processes and instituting standardised safety procedures. His leadership framework combines rigorous technical metrics with a strong commitment to workforce mentorship and team culture. Barron will also oversee key strategic OEM authorisations and quality audits, including major audit compliance.
“Leaders provide a vision, set an example and take care of the team so the team can take care of the mission,” comments Barron. “Our goal is to foster a passionate, accountable and customer-focused maintenance organisation across California, ensuring every aircraft released from our hangars meets the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance.”
Bombardier selected ACI Jet as an authorised service facility in June 2019, initially doubling the projected volume of aircraft in service at its San Luis Obispo base. The MRO division has expanded its regulatory footprint sharply in the period leading up to Barron's promotion.
