Avincis has been awarded a new long-term contract to deliver HEMS in Stockholm, Sweden. The agreement, spanning nine years, reinforces a partnership that has been in place since 2001, ensuring continued high-quality aeromedical support for the population of Stockholm County.
Under the new contract, Avincis will operate two primary Airbus five-bladed H145 helicopters, with one aircraft available 24 hours a day and one operating 12 hours a day, providing rapid aeromedical response across the region.
The Stockholm HEMS programme is one of the busiest and most complex in the Nordic region, completing 3,500–4,500 missions per year and accumulating 2,000–2,500 flying hours annually. The service plays a vital role in enabling fast, safe transport for critically ill or injured patients across a wide variety of operational environments, from dense urban areas and forests to the outer archipelago, where landing can be extremely challenging. The mission model also supports the capability to respond to incidents on board ships and to manage time-critical emergencies requiring rapid mobilisation and high operational readiness.
“Avincis is honoured to continue serving the people of Stockholm with world-class helicopter emergency medical services,” says Group CEO John Boag. “Our team has proudly supported this community for more than two decades, and this new contract reflects our commitment to delivering safe, reliable and highly specialised aviation support when it matters most.”
With the new contract, Avincis remains committed to ensuring exceptional patient care, maintaining the highest safety and operational standards, and continuing to support equal, accessible emergency care across Stockholm County.
