Duncan completes twin G650 heavy maintenance checks
Simultaneous 144-month inspections in Nebraska and Utah highlight growing demand for large-scale Gulfstream maintenance and refurbishment work.
All three of Duncan’s MRO facilities have now completed G650 interior refurbishments, while Lincoln and Provo have also delivered exterior paint projects for the aircraft type.

Duncan Aviation has completed simultaneous 144-month inspections on two Gulfstream G650 aircraft at its MRO facilities in Lincoln, Nebraska, and Provo, Utah.

The inspections, among the most extensive maintenance events in the aircraft’s lifecycle, required technicians to remove exterior access panels, interiors and landing gear to allow full structural and systems inspections throughout the aircraft.

Director of maintenance Matthew Benns visited the Provo facility several times during one of the inspections and says the communication and client engagement stood out.

“The level of client interaction was excellent, among the best I have seen at any MRO. I felt that my priorities as a client were genuinely listened to and understood. We were able to have open and honest discussions, with consistent focus on maintaining safety and ensuring the principal's expectations were met,” says Benns.

Duncan Aviation says its facilities in Battle Creek, Lincoln and Provo are all equipped to support the G650, with factory-trained technicians, dedicated Gulfstream teams, specialised tooling and hangar capacity for large-scale maintenance inputs.

Operators often combine the inspection with refurbishment and upgrade work while the aircraft is already out of service. Dubai-based charter and management company Sybajet did exactly that during a recent maintenance input in Lincoln.

“We had some work related to an exterior paint project that was completed earlier in Provo and we needed to come back to Duncan Aviation for that. The Provo facility wasn't available during our schedule. Rather than make the trip from the United Arab Emirates twice and have the aircraft down longer than necessary, we decided to perform the inspection here (in Lincoln) at the same time,” says Sybajet accountable manager Lee Noble.

“I love Duncan Aviation, and I've been to all three of the MRO facilities for paint, interior refurb, warranty work and now the 144-month inspection. I'll openly push for people to bring their aircraft to Duncan Aviation. The company has the technical expertise, does high-quality work and is typically on schedule and on budget,” adds Noble.
