Aloft AeroArchitects has hit its 50th anniversary amid growing engineering and completions activity.
Founded in 1976 by Harvey Patrick, the company established early momentum with the certification of the first Boeing 737-200 auxiliary fuel system in 1982. Further milestones followed with the opening of its Georgetown, Delaware facility in 1998 and the installation of its 150th auxiliary fuel system in 2012. A 2015 rebrand from PATS Aircraft Systems reflected a broader scope spanning component manufacturing, VVIP completions and FAA ODA-supported engineering and certification work.
That expansion has continued, with 30 VVIP and head of state interior completions delivered to date. The company has also developed special mission integration capabilities while strengthening its role as an FAA-delegated ODA, delivering STCs for connectivity providers. Recent work includes certification of the Gogo Galileo FDX Electronically Steered Antenna, enabling access to the Eutelsat OneWeb low-earth orbit satellite network for Boeing 737 NG and MAX aircraft.
An expanded Innovation Lab is intended to support integration of complex cabin systems, bringing together multivendor environments with testing, digital modelling and evaluation capabilities.
Current activity includes multiple BBJ MAX 8 VVIP interior programmes and the opening of a new Indianapolis office to support engineering and certification demand. Investment in workforce development continues through the Aloft Academy training programme.
Scott Meyer, CEO of Aloft AeroArchitects, says: “After 50 years of steady growth and innovation, Aloft is investing more than ever to expand our capabilities and better serve our customers. Our 2026 investment strategy sets the stage for the next chapter of the company, strengthening our scale, expertise and long-term commitment to customer success.”
