NBAA and 4Air have formed a strategic partnership to expand and strengthen the Sustainable Flight Department Accreditation Program, announced ahead of the 2026 NBAA Schedulers & Dispatchers Conference in Cleveland.
Launched in 2022, the programme evaluates and recognises business aviation organisations for improving sustainability across flight operations, ground support and infrastructure. 4Air will support delivery and scaling while encouraging a more comprehensive, structured approach to environmental responsibility.
“This programme allows flight departments and businesses to demonstrate sustainability progress and leadership while helping move business aviation forward together to meet our industry's unified goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions in the years to come,” says Ed Bolen, president and CEO of NBAA. “We are excited to partner with 4Air and tap into its sustainability expertise to make the Sustainable Flight Department Accreditation Program even better.”
“At this stage in aviation's sustainability journey, leadership is defined by structure, data and accountability,” adds Nancy Bsales, COO of 4Air. “Partnering with NBAA on this accreditation reflects a shared belief that meaningful progress comes from practical frameworks that help flight departments embed sustainability into everyday operations, not just talk about it.”
4Air will provide technical oversight, industry data validation and sustainability expertise, strengthening programme rigour and credibility. The collaboration allows NBAA to scale while maintaining transparency and measurable outcomes.
