Tecnam has delivered a new P2006T NG in multi-engine trainer configuration to Canavia Aviation Training, an ATO based in the Canary Islands, Spain.
This latest acquisition brings Canavia's total Tecnam fleet to nine aircraft, comprising six P2008JC and three P2006Ts, including the newly delivered NG model. This milestone solidifies Canavia's position as operator of one of the most modern and extensive Tecnam training fleets in the Canary Islands and the wider Atlantic region.
The new Tecnam P2006T NG enhances Canavia's multi-engine training operations and supports the academy's long term growth strategy. The integration of this twin-engine aircraft brings several key benefits to the academy and its cadets: increased capacity – improved availability of multi-engine flight hours for ATPL and MEP students; operational efficiency – lower operational costs and environmental impact thanks to the modern, fuel-efficient design of the NG series; advanced avionics – enhanced airline-oriented training through updated glass-cockpit avionics, ensuring a safer and more modern training environment; and sustainable growth – it supports the organisation's ongoing commitment to sustainable and innovative aviation training.
In a special tribute, Canavia has dedicated this new P2006T NG to one of their own. Mario Daniel Pons Grau, CEO and head of training at Canavia, shared the following statement: “This new aircraft reinforces our ongoing commitment to innovation and training excellence. We are proud to honour Eduardo González Santana, a professional who has left an indelible mark on Canavia's history.”
Walter Da Costa, Tecnam chief sales officer, comments on the expanding partnership: “We are incredibly proud to continue our strong and growing partnership with Canavia. Operating a fleet of nine Tecnam aircraft is a true testament to the reliability, profitability and exceptional training value of our platforms, especially in the vibrant aviation environment of the Canary Islands. The P2006T NG will provide Canavia's students with the most advanced multi-engine training available today. We are also moved by the dedication of EC-ORF to Eduardo González Santana, and we are honoured that a Tecnam aircraft will carry his legacy forward into the skies.”
