AVEX will transform Blackhawk site at Camarillo
The remodelled facility will feature upgraded customer spaces designed with comfort, productivity and convenience in mind. AVEX and Blackhawk are reinforcing their commitment to TBM customers.
The facility will be reimagined.

AVEX, a division of The Blackhawk Group, a TBM sales and service organisation in North America, is to benefit from a transformative $5 million investment to remodel and modernise its sales and maintenance facilities at the Camarillo airport in southern California.

This remodel marks the beginning of a new era for AVEX. The company is reinforcing its long-term commitment to supporting TBM owners, operators and pilots with an unmatched level of service and customer care.

“This investment represents our commitment the future of the AVEX Performance Center in Camarillo; modern, elevated and designed entirely around the customer experience,” says Chad Cundiff, CEO of The Blackhawk Group. “Our team is dedicated to providing an environment that mirrors the excellence, innovation and performance of the TBM aircraft itself. This builds on other investments in the aircraft and its support, including our recent certification of the XP66D Engine+ upgrade for the TBM 700 series.”

The remodelled facility will feature upgraded customer spaces designed with comfort, productivity and convenience in mind. Highlights include: modern customer lounge – a refreshed, open and stylish environment to relax in before and after flights; private rooms – quiet, comfortable spaces for rest or focused work; design centre – a dedicated space for customers to visualise and plan custom upgrades, avionics or refurbishments; upgraded pilot lounge – complete with enhanced seating, entertainment options and direct ramp access; flight planning and scheduling centre – purpose-built areas for pilots to prepare and file with ease; conference rooms – fully equipped meeting spaces for business on the go; ease of access – streamlined ramp-side entry for quicker transitions from car to cockpit; personalised service – concierge-style amenities that take the stress out of flight planning and travel; and a community hub – a gathering place for TBM pilots and owners, strengthening connections within the community.

The remodel is more than cosmetic. It is a signal of permanence and dedication. By investing in their facility at KCMA, AVEX and The Blackhawk Group are reinforcing their role as trusted partners to the TBM community for decades to come.

“This remodel is not just about modernising walls and furniture,” Cundiff continues. “It's about creating an environment where our customers feel at home. We are investing for the long haul, ensuring the TBM community always has a world-class home base in southern California.”

AVEX has earned industry-wide recognition for its aircraft maintenance, avionics upgrades and dedicated TBM expertise. The company has received several Garmin Platinum Dealer Awards, which is the manufacturer's highest honour awarded to a select group of dealers worldwide for exceptional performance, technical capability and customer support.

AVEX has also received the FAA's Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) Employer Diamond Award of Excellence for 18 consecutive years, the top distinction for aircraft maintenance organisations. This award requires every eligible technician within the company to complete certification under the FAA's annual AMT training in safety, technical proficiency and regulatory compliance.

Receiving these highly esteemed awards affirms AVEX's commitment to aviation safety and industry-leading quality standards for the TBM platform.
