Blackhawk forms dedicated propeller solutions organisation
A single operation has been created to bring propeller upgrades, installation, maintenance and support together through Performance Centers and dealer networks in the US and UK.
Chip Kiehn joins as vice president, propeller programmes, after decades in OEM partnerships.

The Blackhawk Group has formed a dedicated organisation to bring together its propeller upgrade, installation, maintenance and support business, giving operators a single source for propeller enhancements through its Performance Center and dealer networks.

The initiative draws on partnerships with Hartzell Propeller and MT-Propeller, offering solutions aimed at improving cruise speed, climb performance and cabin noise. Installations are backed by OEM support, with predictable overhaul pricing, exchange availability and warranty cover. The Blackhawk Group's Performance Center network spans seven locations across the US and UK, supporting both engine-paired and standalone propeller upgrades.

Aviation industry veteran Chip Kiehn has joined The Blackhawk Group as vice president, propeller programmes, to lead the business. Kiehn brings experience in OEM partnerships and dealer network growth from across general aviation, and will oversee product development, strategic partnerships, sales and customer support.

Edwin Black, president of Blackhawk Proprietary Upgrades, says: “Chip's experience and industry relationships make him the ideal leader to help grow this important part of our business. Operators are looking for complete performance solutions. By combining premium propeller technology with The Blackhawk Group's installation expertise and customer support, we're helping customers get more from their aircraft.”
