NBAA introduces accident analysis tool
Launched at this year’s NBAA-BACE, the resource provides members with interactive tools to study accidents, incidents and long-term safety trends.

The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) has launched an online platform designed to support accident reduction through comprehensive industry data analysis. The NBAA Business Aviation Accident and Incident Analysis resource was introduced on the second day of NBAA-BACE, the association’s annual convention focused on safety and professional excellence.

“Safety is a core value of NBAA and the business aviation community,” says Doug Carr, senior vice president of safety, security, sustainability and international affairs at NBAA. “The new NBAA Business Aviation Accident and Incident Analysis online tool adds to other valuable programmes and resources for identifying, analysing and mitigating risk to ensure we are helping to improve safety for business aviation. NBAA is excited to bring this new capability to members who have told us they are looking for benchmarks to compare their own safety performance.”

The tool allows members to review detailed accident and incident data from the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board for turbine business aircraft, including turboprops, turbojets and turbine-powered helicopters. Expansion to piston-powered business aircraft is planned.

Users can select by aircraft type, operation type, flight phase and time period to identify relevant trends. Interactive charts and tables provide detailed reports and a decade of historical analysis. NBAA will issue quarterly reports, beginning with the Q3 2025 edition, to provide ongoing insight as new data emerges.
