NBAA Management Guide serves a crucial readership
The guide includes a foreword by NBAA president and CEO Ed Bolen that notes business aviation's advancement toward ‘bold new horizons, filled with innovation and excitement’.

The NBAA has unveiled the latest version of its Management Guide, providing invaluable guidance and direction from industry veterans to help industry professionals navigate a complex landscape filled with exciting new advances and ongoing challenges.

Developed and updated by the Management Tools Subcommittee of the Business Aviation Management Committee (BAMC), the recently released 2026-01 version of the NBAA Management Guide builds upon the comprehensive 2024 overhaul that aligned the guide with the pillars of NBAA's Certified Aviation Management (CAM) programme.

That alignment is ‘critically important’ according to Mark Blackman, aviation director for a large sporting organisation who helped develop the revised guide with fellow BAMC member Jamie Ingall.

“Our goal is to give a comprehensive overview and direct individuals to more specific expert material when appropriate,” he exclaims. “If an individual is new to a leadership role or is preparing for one by studying to become a CAM, we believe that this guide should be their number one resource.”

The guide is split across the five CAM programme domains of leadership, human resources, operations, aircraft maintenance and facilities services, and business management.

Molly Hitch, NBAA director of educational development and engagement and staff liaison to the BAMC, notes that the guide is NBAA's most downloaded resource.

“That really highlights how vital the NBAA Management Guide is for our operating members,” she says. “Current and future leaders in our industry are continually seeking guidance, assistance and institutional knowledge on best practices. We intend this guide to be their single most useful source for information.”

The guide also includes a foreword by NBAA president and CEO Ed Bolen that notes business aviation's advancement toward ‘bold new horizons, filled with innovation and excitement’, and the importance of resources like the NBAA Management Guide ‘necessary to inform [your] decision making in meeting this unique moment for our industry’.

The BAMC intends to publish further revisions later this year, with additional guidance on emerging technologies. The group is also working with the NBAA Maintenance Subcommittee to further enhance the guide's maintenance domain.
