Tecnam Aircraft has delivered a factory-new P2006T NG to Canavia, the flight school’s third Tecnam P2006T and the first of the latest NG (Next Generation) version to arrive in the Canary Islands. With this addition, Canavia now operates ten Tecnam aircraft, which form the backbone of its 13-strong fleet dedicated primarily to Airline Transport Pilot Licence training.
Founded in 2009, Canavia is a certified Flight Training Organisation that has become a benchmark in aviation education across Europe. Based in the Canary Islands, it provides pilot training to more than 160 active students, supported by favourable weather conditions year-round, experienced instructors and a reliable, efficient fleet.
“We are committed to excellence in training the future airline pilots,” says Canavia CEO Mario Pons. “Our partnership with Tecnam provides us with aircraft perfectly suited to our training operations and, most importantly, with the strong maintenance support that enables us to meet our students’ demanding flying schedules.”
The Tecnam P2006T NG introduces upgrades in avionics, comfort and efficiency. It is powered by twin Rotax 912S3 engines and features the Garmin G1000 NXi avionics suite. Its versatility, low operating costs and advanced design have made it a popular choice among flight schools worldwide.
The aircraft was ferried from Tecnam’s headquarters in Capua, Italy, to Canavia’s base in the Canary Islands by Alvaro Lapetra, Tecnam’s Spanish dealer, together with Canavia pilot Miguel Marafini.
“It was a real pleasure to deliver this new-generation P2006T to Canavia, one of Tecnam’s most loyal and professional training partners,” adds Lapetra. “The aircraft performed flawlessly throughout the ferry flight, further confirming the reliability and efficiency of Tecnam’s twin-engine platform.”
Canavia plans to add a Tecnam P2010 single-engine four-seater in the coming days, continuing its expansion and demonstrating confidence in Tecnam’s aircraft range and customer support.
“Tecnam is proud to support Canavia’s commitment to quality and professionalism,” concludes Walter Da Costa, Tecnam’s chief sales officer. “Its success in training the next generation of airline pilots perfectly aligns with Tecnam’s mission to deliver advanced, reliable and sustainable aircraft for flight training around the world.”
