In Week 32 (4–10 August), global business jet activity reached 74,340 departures, up 5% compared to the same week in 2024, although 1% below the prior week, according to WingX’s Weekly Global Market Tracker. The busiest period of the past year remained Week 26 2025, with 78,808 departures.
From 1–10 August, business jet activity surpassed 100,000 flights worldwide, with 105,177 recorded. This was 5% ahead of the same period in 2024 and 31% above 2019. The global active fleet increased to 15,364 aircraft, 4% more than last year and 21% higher than 2019.
North America slightly outpaced global trends with 6% growth over 2024. Florida grew 8% year-on-year, while Texas gained 6% compared to Week 32 last year. California fell 4% from the prior week, standing 1% higher than last year.
European activity rose just 1% compared to 2024. France fell 14%, likely reflecting a slowdown after the 2024 Olympic Games, while the UK fell 4%. Switzerland grew 12% and Italy increased 3%.
Other regions recorded stronger growth. South America rose 26%, Africa gained 22%, Asia grew 3% and the Middle East climbed 4%.
Tourism hotspots also recorded growth this August. Croatia arrivals rose 12% year-on-year, while Ibiza grew 6% and Menorca rose 48%. Swiss airports recorded strong traffic, with Zurich up 21% and Bern up 27%.
“Business jet demand continues to thrive this summer, with 4% YOY pick-up the strongest trend since 2022,” says WingX managing director Richard Koe. “The big rebound in business jet traffic to Switzerland, up 12% YOY, is probably due to high-end tourists looking to avoid the worst of the heatwaves.”
