The National Business Aviation Association has congratulated Pete Bunce and Mary Miller on being awarded the 2025 Donald D. Engen Trophy for Aviation Excellence by the Aero Club of Washington. The presentation took place during a luncheon on 26 June.
Bunce stepped down in April after 20 years as president and CEO of the General Aviation Manufacturers Association. He previously spent 26 years in the United States Air Force, flying A-10s and F-15s. Miller retired recently as vice president of industry and government affairs for Signature Aviation, following more than four decades working at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.
NBAA president and CEO Ed Bolen said: “It's very fitting that Pete and Mary have been selected this year for the Engen Trophy, which recognises extraordinary contributions to the aviation industry. Their decades of tireless service have left an indelible mark, not only for those of us in general aviation, but for people across the aviation community.”
NBAA had earlier recognised both awardees in 2024 for their contributions. The Engen Trophy is housed at the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum and honours lifetime achievement or acts that reflect aviation excellence.
