Eve Air Mobility has received a grant of up to $15.8 million from FINEP, Brazil's Funding Authority for Studies and Projects. Combined with its own contribution, Eve is investing up to $33.8 million in a project centred on digital services and eVTOL development.
The funding, part of a FINEP call focused on sustainable aviation technologies, targets areas like autonomous systems, hybrid-electric propulsion and air traffic management for advanced air mobility. Eve will focus its resources on the areas most aligned with its innovation roadmap.
CEO Johann Bordais says the grant enables Eve to "accelerate the development of advanced digital solutions and technologies that will shape the future of urban air mobility in Brazil and beyond". Vice president of customer services Luiz Mauad adds that a digital backbone is key to "scalable AAM operations".
The project will expand Eve’s digital ecosystem, including its Eve TechCare aftermarket platform. This suite offers support services such as parts, MRO, flight operations and battery management. Eve is also progressing with comprehensive flight and performance testing of its eVTOL prototype.
FINEP president Elias Ramos de Souza says the grant reflects the agency’s belief that eVTOLs are a "future disruptive trend in the UAM scenario", and marks continued investment support to Embraer and its affiliates.
