MichiganAvfuel has expanded its sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) supply network with three new supply points, including an East Coast terminal in Linden, New Jersey. This development, alongside facilities in Pasadena, Texas and Florida’s Port Everglades, strengthens SAF accessibility beyond the western United States.
“With the addition of these terminals, particularly those in New Jersey and Florida, we’ve vastly expanded our supply chain infrastructure to significantly enhance SAF accessibility,” says Avfuel executive vice president CR Sincock II.
In the Northeast US, Heritage Aviation in Burlington, Vermont will be the first Northeast location in the Avfuel Network to receive a regular SAF supply, the first delivery being scheduled for the week of 3 February.
Avfuel expects SAF volumes to grow in 2025, with the Linden terminal supporting business aviation users as well as commercial operators.
Avfuel’s SAF expansion is supported by supply agreements with Valero Marketing and Supply Company and an extended partnership with Neste, covering SAF volumes from California’s Selby and Vopak terminals. The SAF produced via the HEFA SPK process can reduce lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80% compared to conventional jet fuel.
