Read this story in our March/April 2025 printed issue.

Skyborne Airline Academy has installed an Elite S812 FNPT II / AATD simulator at its Vero Beach, Florida facility as part of its expansion and fleet renewal efforts. The state-of-the-art simulator aims to modernise training infrastructure and prepare students for the evolving aviation industry.

The Elite S812 FNPT II / AATD features convertible configurations for single and multi-engine piston aircraft, with both glass and analogue cockpit options. Its integration of Garmin GTN650 systems matches the avionics used in Skyborne's Piper fleet, ensuring seamless transitions between simulator and real-world training. A 4.5-metre high-definition projection screen enhances visual realism for applications such as emergency procedures, navigation and multi-crew exercises. Certified to EASA CS-FSTD(A) FNPT II and FAA AATD standards, the simulator provides a cost-effective yet immersive training environment.
