Cessna Citation Excel 560XL jets now have a complete fluorescent cabin lighting replacement from PWI. The PMA-approved LED cabin light system replaces the original fluorescent cabin lighting in the passenger cabin, galley and lav areas.

"Our LEDs are a one-for-one, pre-measured lighting replacement. Since there are several cabin configurations in the Excel, PWI refers to the aircraft owner's Cessna interior maintenance manual to configure the precise replacement LED system," says president and CEO Robi Lorik. "PWI LEDs are a complete system that are ready to install right from the box. We even add replacement dimming controls. This lighting system brings the Excel up to modern appearance and performance standards."

PWI's LED cabin light system eliminates the high-voltage fluorescent lights as well as the flicker, buzz and hum that go with them. EMI and RFI are also dramatically reduced when moving from fluorescents to PWI LEDs. This Citation Excel PWI LED system offers extremely long 100,000 hour service life, creates no heat and offers instant-on lighting performance. Operating the lights is no extra work due to the included new dimmer controls that mimic the original switches. The dimming controls for fluorescents are not capable of controlling modern, low-voltage LEDs.

Citation Excel 560XL aircraft that can take advantage of the PWI LED cabin light system are in the serial number range from 5001 through 5349.

LED installation reuses the original lighting wiring by creating a lighting system to match the specific fluorescent cabin lighting configuration. Several cabin options for tables, couches and additional seating mean that multiple lighting systems are available to precisely match cabin layouts. The PWI LED cabin lighting system uses 4,000K neutral white colour temperature LEDs and runs on the aircraft supplied 28 volts. The Excel has upwash in the headliner and downwash lighting on side of the cabin.

The Cessna Citation Excel 560XL LED cabin light system has a three year PWI warranty.

"This latest LED cabin lighting system gives Citation customers PWI LED cabin lighting options for the Citation 525 CJ1, 525 CJ2, Citation V 560, 550 Bravo, Citation II 550 and now the Citation Excel 560XL. We have additional business jet LED cabin lighting systems in the works, including our full-colour RGBW systems," Lorik says.

PWI has also designed and manufactured plug-and-play LED reading lights that are PMA-approved in more than 100 aircraft, including the Citation family of jets. An LED wing inspection light is also PMA-approved in multiple Citation models.
