Citation owners eye Blackhawk's Garmin GI-275 installation
The current standby instrument systems in Citation 500/501/550/S550/560/560XL series aircraft has become difficult and costly to repair. The STC provides a cost effective and easily installed solution.
The STC allows the option for use of an internal Lithium Battery-powered GI-275 or the existing Standby Battery System.

Blackhawk Aerospace Technologies (BAT), an FAA Part 145 repair station based in Columbia, Missouri, has completed the STC for the Installation of the new Garmin GI-275 electronic standby instrument system for the Citation 500/501/550/S550/560/560XL series aircraft. The AML STC is applicable to all serial number aircraft for these Citation models. The current standby instrument systems in these aircraft have become difficult and very costly to repair. This STC provides a solution that is cost effective and easily installed along with a provided PMA kit.

The STC allows the option for use of an internal lithium battery-powered GI-275 or the existing standby battery system. The fully encompassing data package includes the aircraft specific airspeed markings to assure the installation of the GI-275 is done correctly. Options for the GI-275, like synthetic vision, backup GPS antenna and heading magnetometer, can also be added at the time of installation.

"Our customers were looking for a turnkey solution to an age-old programme for the Citation 500 series aircraft," says VP of sales and marketing Conrad Theisen. "We listened and developed an STC designed by installers for installers for a low-cost solution."

The STC and PMA kit are now available to purchase through the Garmin dealer network or at Blackhawk Aerospace Technologies' facility in Columbia.
