Volatus adopts weather and gaming data for extra safety
VI&ES and TruWeather are to focus on safety and efficiency for vertiports through weather data provision, as the developer also gets into gaming on Metapilot for real world data collection.

Volatus Infrastructure & Energy Solutions is to focus on vertiport placement, design and construction, and the inherent weather infrastructure and weather services needed for vertiport operations to be conducted safely and efficiently, with TruWeather Solutions.

“Don and his team are dedicated to providing eVTOL operators with the highest resolution weather data to reduce uncertainties, which then improves both financial sustainability for vertiports and flight safety for passengers,” says CEO Dan Sloat. “We are particularly proud to partner with such passionate professionals.”

“For advanced air mobility to thrive, aircraft must have access to more precise microclimate data, enabling enhanced flight planning, effective risk management and informed in-flight decision making,” says TruWeather CEO Don Berchoff. “TruWeather has a formula for detailed design and deployment of weather sensing infrastructure to monitor wind and weather conditions and contribute to safer, more efficient vertiport operations. We are happy to partner with VI&E Solutions to implement a shared vision of building sustainable solutions.”

TruWeather provides comprehensive low altitude weather solutions to improve safety and efficiency in the scaling drone and air taxi industries. A key component of its solution is in supplying leading-edge micro weather measurements from highly localised data. Its low altitude weather intelligence enables stakeholders to expedite BVLOS waivers and its ASTM F38 Weather Standard opens the door for novel weather measurements in support of flight control decisions.

The eVTOL infrastructure company has also formed a partnership with Neurobotx to be the first vertiport on the Boeing-backed Metapilot platform that will generate synthetic data for real world eVTOL operations. The platform will help build upon and calculate where best to position VI&E Solutions’ vertiports to expedite travel time without compromising safety. The Metapilot platform aims to simulate 900 vertiports in key locations across the globe with Metaverse’s common partners across government, corporations, investors and regulatory bodies. Users will soon be able to interact with a vertiport for the first time and simulate take off and landing with unprecedented accuracy on the Metapilot game website for free.

“The incredible advancements in digital twin technology allow the AAM industry to approach vertiport development as a complimentary element of a highly integrated multi-modal transportation system rather than a series of isolated projects. We look forward to insights from the Neurobotx experts and the greater Metapilot community,” says Sloat.

Neurobotx CEO Dr Diana Deca adds: “For the first time in history, we will be able to simulate with up to 1m accuracy, starting in Manhattan, where to position the vertiport worldwide as per our partners request, how all air taxi models will take off and land on them, simulate charging, storage, reduction of congestion and pollution, generating new jobs and potentially saving lives with medical, security and defence applications. Most importantly, we will get millions of people to experience and learn about sustainable future mobility beyond just flying cars. Our board members who are AAM leaders from Boeing, NASA and the US Air Force will help us further integrate vertiports and air taxis and create realistic financial and business plans for our common clients and investors.”

Metapilot enables gamers to immerse themselves in the thrilling world of air taxi take offs and landings at vertiports. This innovative initiative not only delivers an unparalleled gaming experience but also serves a vital role in advancing the air mobility industry. By simulating crucial data required by regulators, such as financial and human impact of vertiport placement for traffic decongestion, safety, job creation, etc, Metapilot is playing a pivotal role in accelerating the growth of this transformative industry. This groundbreaking convergence of gaming and real-world data collection has the potential to make air taxi technology safer and more accessible than ever before.
