Nimbl has introduced a Ground Operations Checklist, a practical resource designed to help ground crews identify risks and mitigate safety incidents during routine ground operations.

The checklist follows analysis of operational data submitted to Nimbl's platform, which found that nearly 40 per cent of reported incidents and hazards occurred during ground operations rather than in flight, underlining the need for ground crews to identify and address hazards alongside flight crews.

The data was published in Nimbl's Annual Safety Report and prompted the company to produce a checklist covering three of the most common ground operations risks. Aircraft towing and parking procedures are intended to prevent ground collisions and to safely position arriving and departing aircraft without putting aircraft already on stand at risk. Fuelling procedures are designed to ensure aircraft receive the correct grade, quantity and quality of fuel while confirming fuelling operations are conducted safely. Facility procedures cover equipment, signage and structural elements to ensure they meet safety standards.
