Fly Louie preps Part 135 operators for SMS changes
In advance of SMS regulatory changes, Fly Louie is empowering Part 135 operators to seamlessly navigate the evolving landscape by offering access to Wyvern's first discount programme.

Fly Louie, a US provider of solutions for independent Part 135 operators, has partnered with SMS software provider Wyvern to assist independent charter operators in preparing for forthcoming regulatory changes. This partnership comes alongside the launch of Fly Louie's Alliance Pro membership, a first-of-its-kind comprehensive benefits package specially designed for Part 135 operators.

The FAA recently proposed a rule to mandate the implementation of organisation-wide safety management systems (SMS) for all Part 135 operators. Wyvern embodies the highest standard in aviation safety and risk management, and recognises the need to support and equip operators during this uncertain period. By harnessing Wyvern's expertise, Fly Louie aims to empower Part 135 operators to seamlessly navigate the evolving regulatory landscape, as Fly Louie Alliance Pro members will be able to access the first discount programme offered by Wyvern.

According to Fly Louie CEO and founder Julia Takeda, the Wyvern partnership was a natural fit as her company looked to expand Fly Louie Alliance offerings: “We're thrilled to be partnered with Sonnie Bates, Andy Day and the rest of the Wyvern team. Wyvern differentiates itself with its integrations with operators' flight management software and its Flight Leader Program that pairs operators with safety coaches. Wyvern understands that safety management needs to be both effective and straightforward, and we know Alliance operators are going to be excited about this partnership.”

“Aviation safety is what we do, and aligning with a top partner such as Fly Louie will help make our services more accessible to more operators,” says Wyvern senior vice president Andy Day. “We work hard to make SMS easy and effective for operations of all shapes and sizes, and we look forward to working with the Fly Louie team to make another positive impact on the private aviation industry."

As part of the partnership, Fly Louie Alliance operators who enrol in Alliance Pro will secure multi-year savings from Wyvern that reach as high as 50 per cent, along with a host of additional benefits. This is on top of existing Alliance benefits for Part 135 operators, including the Fly Louie fuel programme, which offers savings at over 75 Fly Louie Preferred FBOs across the USA. In 2022, Alliance members collectively saved more than $1.3 million in fuel purchases at Alliance Preferred FBOs.
