Qatar Executive is set to introduce a new air ionisation system on its G650ER aircraft. The active system is capable of eliminating potentially harmful pathogens and allergens such as bacteria, viruses and mould spores.

The eco-friendly technology has a minimum impact on the environment and adds an additional layer of hygiene on board by eradicating volatile organic compounds (VOCs), visible smoke and undesirable odours.

Qatar Airways Group chief executive His Excellency Mr Akbar Al Baker says: “Qatar Executive is always at the forefront when it comes to introducing the latest safety and hygiene innovations. Enhancing the comfort and well-being of our passengers throughout their journey is paramount, so we are pleased to be retrofitting our G650ER fleet with this cutting-edge air ionisation system. Qatar Executive will continue to adopt and introduce meticulous onboard safety measures that offer an unparalleled private jet experience each time."

The company has already retrofitted two of its G650ER jets with the pioneering air ionisation system, and will continue installing the new device across the fleet within the next three months.

Qatar Executive is the world's largest owner-operator of the Gulfstream G650ER fast ultra-long range business jet. Last month, it operated its flagship G650ER to and from EBACE 2022 in Geneva, Switzerland using a high blend of SAF, and in November 2021 took delivery of its eighth G650ER jet. This was flown to Doha using drop-in SAF, marking another significant milestone for the Group and reinforcing its leadership in flying one of the most modern aircraft fleets in the sky.

Qatar Executive's fleet includes 12 Gulfstream G650ERs, with three additional jets planned for delivery in 2022, three Bombardier Global 5000s, one Global XRS, one Airbus A319ACJ and another A319 air ambulance aircraft, making the fleet 18 strong.
