The FAA has issued a supplemental type certificate covering installation of Gogo Galileo HDX on the Gulfstream G650 and G650ER.
Galileo HDX is an electronically steered antenna offering compact, lightweight, low-power connectivity for large-cabin aircraft. The system draws on Eutelsat's OneWeb enterprise-grade low earth orbit network, giving crew and passengers high-speed, low-latency connectivity for video conferencing, streaming and internet browsing across multiple devices simultaneously.
Gulfstream's tail-mounted Under The Radome installation is designed to minimise downtime while complementing the aircraft's design. The antenna is backwards compatible with existing network equipment, fully integrated with the cabin and approved for multiple radomes, giving operators flexibility over configuration.
“The addition of Gogo Galileo HDX as an aftermarket option for the G650 and G650ER reflects the growing demand for high-speed connectivity and provides operators with the latest technology in business aviation,” says Chris Moore, chief executive of Gogo.
Operators fitting the system also gain access to Gogo's cybersecurity protections and round-the-clock customer support, alongside systems built to be upgraded as future technology requirements evolve.
