Hop-a-Jet and Lyon Aviation renew Wyvern certifications
Wingman standard validates an organisation's commitment to safety as a core value, and the latest operators to achieve the designation are Hop-A-Jet and Lyon Aviation.
The Lyon fleet consists of a Gulfstream GV, GIV-SP, as well as numerous Dassault Falcon 50EX and Hawker 800XP aircraft while Hop-A-Jet's has Challenger 604, 605, Learjet 60 and 45s.

Wyvern has certified Fort Lauderdale, Florida-based Part 135 Hop-A-Jet Worldwide Jet Charter and Pittsfield, Massachusetts-based Part 135 Lyon Aviation as Wyvern Wingman certified operators. Hop-A-Jet's audit took place in January this year while Lyon Aviation was audited in December 2021.

“We are proud to announce that Hop-A-Jet and Lyon Aviation are Wingman operators. Conforming to the Wyvern Wingman standard is a testament to an organisation's culture and commitment to safety,” says CEO Sonnie Bates.

The Wyvern Wingman standard, the first air charter audit standard in the aviation industry, provides a safety benchmark that allows air charter customers to assess performance expectations against recognised industry best operating practices before purchasing air charter services.

Wyvern Wingman operators are evaluated by the Wingman standard criteria. The scope of the evaluation includes an assessment of operational activities, review on the company's operational history and safety records, safety management system (SMS), internal evaluation programme, administrative compositions, technical documentation, pilot and aircraft records, training requirements and maintenance operations including technician training and experience.
