Air-to-ground inflight connectivity provider SmartSky Networks has appointed Western Jet Aviation as a sales and installation provider for its advanced shipsets at Western Jet's Van Nuys airport facility in California.

Director of MRO account management Aria Bahawdory says: “Western Jet Aviation joins SmartSky at an opportune time. Its expertise with Gulfstream aircraft, coupled with available STCs and full CONUS coverage for flight hours next quarter, will provide Gulfstream owners and operators with an inflight connectivity solution that meets the needs of cabin, crew and operators alike.”

Aviation maintenance and modification company Western Jet Aviation plans to sell and install SmartSky's flagship equipment, including aircraft antennas and aircraft base radios (ABR). Combined with already available supplemental type certificates (STCs) for Gulfstream type aircraft, Western Jet will provide timely hardware and installation to support the increasing demand for a connected aircraft experience that is responsive, dependable and secure.

CEO and founder Jim Hansen adds: “Our core values commit us to continually seek innovative, leading-edge solutions that create a level of service that is extraordinary and inspires our clients. SmartSky's products and services are available through a growing network of installation partners and value-added-resellers. The three interrelated offerings include its best-in-class, next generation air-to-ground network, advanced antennas and ABRs, and a transformational digital platform and application-layer, Skytelligence.
